Single Friendly Church Week Resource Pack

Single Friendly Church Week, 27th September – 4th October 2026, is a week for churches to celebrate their single friendliness.Your church is invited to be part of the movement! Download this free Resource Pack to get started. Together we can build a church where everyone belongs.

What is Single Friendly Church Week?

Right now, many single people are leaving church feeling unseen, isolated, and unwelcome. Not because their faith has wavered - but because the communities that should embrace them have overlooked them.

Single Friendly Church Week, 27th September – 4th October 2026, is our moment to change this. For one week, churches, leaders, and individuals across the UK are coming together to say clearly: single people at every stage of life are welcomed, valued, and included here.

How can my church get involved?

This is your invitation to be part of the movement! Taking action during Single Friendly Church Week doesn't have to be complicated, it just has to be intentional.

You might run a conversation in your small group, review the language on your website, lead a reflection during a Sunday service, or simply open your doors in a new way. Whatever your church context or journey, know that small changes can make a big difference!

Whether you'd like to make a simple announcement, run an event, highlight singleness in your prayers or preaching, or invite a single person to speak about their experiences, we’d love you to get involved. Download the guide and get inspired!

We’ve also created downloadable assets such as a powerpoint and poster for your church, which are free to use:

Pray with us during Single Friendly Church Week

One simple yet powerful way to join in Single Friendly Church Week is to pray with us.

You are welcome to use the following prayer (or adapt for use) during or leading up to this week. You could include this in your church prayers, pray together as a small group, or use it in your own personal prayer time.

Maker of us all,
As you draw us into your love,
May we love others in Your Name.

We pray that all churches would be places of welcome for single people,
Who seek community in an increasingly fragmented and isolated world.
May we, as the Body of Christ, be your hands and feet,
Working together as one.

We pray for the work for Single Friendly Church Network
And their vision for all single people to be valued in church.
May we learn from single people and those who attend church alone about their experiences

We give thanks for all the ways churches already create opportunities of invitation and belonging.
May we, with the Holy Spirit, strive to help everyone flourish in our communities, whatever their relationship status.

We thank you for your grace, as we seek to be more like Christ,

Amen

We can’t wait to see how your church will choose to get involved! Together, we can inspire a culture shift that helps every person in your congregation truly flourish.
