Single Friendly Church is looking for a Head of Operations and Development. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to take us forward as we move from being a Community Interest Company to becoming a charity.

About us
Single Friendly Church is a small but growing organisation that exists to emphasise the positive contribution and identity of single people in churches across the UK, and help churches welcome and include them. We are looking for a new Head of Operations and Development to work alongside a small campaign team. The founder is also actively involved. There is an existing database of contacts of interested individuals and organisations. There is also core funding in place.
The role
- Setting the objectives and direction for the organisation
- Working with the Directors and in due course the Trustees
- Reviewing the strategy of the organisation post-pandemic
- Building networks with churches, Christian groups, key influencers
- Managing attendance at festivals and exhibitions
- Reporting impact and developing organisational targets
- Managing governance as SFC converts from a CIC to a CIO
- Managing SFC board meetings and produce necessary documentation
- Developing and implementing a fundraising strategy and systems.
- Overseeing budgeting and finance functions

Skills
- Charity management experience and good professional grounding.
- Either worked in a Christian organisation or strong understanding of Christian culture
- Demonstrates a knowledge and understanding of Christian networks, especially the Church of England.
- Some Fundraising experience desirable
- The successful candidate does not need to be single – just aware of issues that might impact single adults.
Terms
3 days per week on freelance basis, equivalent to £40,000 p.a. (ie £24,000 p.a.)
The office is based in central London. It is expected that the successful candidate would be in the office at least one day a week.
